Desert Fly Casters was established in 1962. At DFC we are passionate about fly fishing and dedicated to sharing our love for the sport with the community. For over 60 years, we have been a cornerstone for fly fishing enthusiasts in the East Valley; fostering a welcoming and educational environment for fly anglers of all skill levels.

At Desert Fly Casters, our mission is to advance the art of fly fishing in Arizona. We strive to educate the public about sustainable fishing practices, engage in community conservation efforts, and create an inclusive, family-friendly environment for enthusiasts of all ages.
 
Our vision is to see Arizona’s waterways thrive, enriched by ongoing restoration efforts and championed by a community of informed and passionate anglers. We believe in responsible angling and aim to foster a culture where conservation and enjoyment go hand-in-hand.

Who We Are

 
Desert Fly Casters was founded by a group of passionate individuals who saw the potential to combine their love for fly fishing with a commitment to conservation and education. Based in Arizona, our club brings together a diverse group of members who share a common goal – to protect and enjoy our state’s beautiful natural resources.
 
We host regular meetings and events that are open to the public, providing a platform for learning and sharing experiences. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a curious beginner, Desert Fly Casters offers something for everyone. Join us and be part of a community that values knowledge, sustainability, and the joy of fly fishing.
 

Monthly Meetings

 

Our meetings are always free of charge and open to the public. We meet at 7:00 PM on the second Wednesday of each month. Come early at 6:00 PM to enjoy food and mingle with fellow fly fishing enthusiasts.
